How a wedding at Round Mountain actually runs

  1. Morning

    Everyone is already here

    The wedding party wakes in the cabins. Coffee on the porch. Hair and make-up in the preparation suite while the pavilion is being set.

  2. Early afternoon

    Vendors arrive, guests roll in

    Florists and caterers load in past the gate. Guests park on site and walk in — no shuttle from town, no one getting lost on a back road.

  3. Late afternoon

    The ceremony — and the weather call

    Deck if it is clear, pavilion if it is not. That decision can be made on the morning without a single phone call to a rental company.

  4. Golden hour

    Photographs, while the room turns over

    You disappear into the trees with your photographer. Behind you the pavilion goes from rows of chairs to long tables and candlelight.

  5. Evening

    Dinner, toasts, dancing

    Long tables under the string lights, the big doors open to the dark forest, and the music as loud as fifty-plus private acres allows.

  6. Late

    The fire, and then bed — not a highway

    The last of it happens around the fire pit. Then your people walk to their cabins. Nobody drives.

If you already have a photographer you love or a caterer who has been in the family for years, that is genuinely fine. The current vendor policy — insurance, load-in windows, and what we need on file — comes with your pricing sheet, so you know the rules before you book anyone.

The things couples ask us first

Up to 150. The property works just as well at the other end of the scale — elopements and micro-weddings of a dozen people are very much welcome, and priced differently.

Two choices. The open-air ceremony deck is a large timber deck edged with string lights and a draped arch, forest on every side. The covered pavilion seats your ceremony under a roof with the big end doors open to the trees.

Plenty of couples use the deck for the ceremony and the pavilion for dinner, which is the best of both.

Nothing has to move off-site, and you do not have to put a tent on hold “just in case”. The covered pavilion is a real weather plan — it seats the ceremony and hosts the reception. A wet forecast changes your photographs, not your day.

Yes — forty of them. Four cabins on site: The Elk (sleeps 6), The Caribou (sleeps 6), The Moose (sleeps 6) and The Goose (sleeps 4), 22 between them. Plus four luxury yurts in the village with two queen beds each, so four to a yurt and 16 across them, and The Tamarack, our original off-grid yurt (sleeps 2) — and a shared bathhouse.

About 20 minutes from Bonners Ferry, about 30 minutes from Sandpoint, and about 2.5 hours from Spokane International (GEG), which is the nearest major airport for guests flying in.

The property is beautiful in all four seasons. Late spring through early autumn is peak wedding season in North Idaho and those dates go first — if you want a summer Saturday, inquire early.

The fifty-plus acres are private. There is no second wedding running on the other side of the trees, and no public foot traffic through your ceremony.

Yes — there is a preparation suite on the property for the wedding party. Couples who book cabins often use those too, for hair, make-up and the getting-ready photographs.

We keep a list of North Idaho photographers, florists, caterers and musicians we know and trust, and we will share it happily. If you already have people you love, bring them.

The cabins are pet friendly — so the dog who has been with you both since the beginning can be there for the vows too.

Yes, parking is on site. Your guests drive in and park where the wedding is, rather than shuttling from town.

We also run Lit Lavender Farm in Sequim, Washington. Bouquet accents, dried bundles, sachets for guest favours and aromatherapy stations can all come from the farm. Mention it in your inquiry and we will put together options.
